Hello friends & family! We made it back from Portugal on Sept. 8th and came back to Switzerland relaxed, refreshed and as brown as the Portuguese! It was an absolutely fantastic trip. We spent our time down in the Algarve where the water temperature is warmer than the west coast. We had many beach days: body boarding, snorkelling, swimming and surfing. And when we weren't on the beach, we were exploring the towns where we stayed, eating LOTS of Gelato, visiting little shops and when in Lagos, eating at Ben's favorite burger joint in the whole world: Burger Ranch! Here are some pictures of our highlights:
Here's Ben surfing: He got up on his first try!
This was a beautiful view in Sagres
Here in lagos, Ben found a good cliff to jump off of...
Here was a Bratwurst stand in Sagres, it said "Die letzte Bratwurst vor Amerika" Sagres is known to be the "End of the World".
Burger Ranch!
Ben making his sandwiches....since living in Europe, sandwiches have become Ben's favorite meal...strange...
The popcorn man!
Snorkelling was a blast!
Here is bodyboarding! Very fun...
We went mountain biking for a day...the views we were able to see were incredible.

In other news, we have been getting back into a routine here in Liestal. I have joined Ben for 3 days/week on the construction site and am learning a lot! The other days I am continuing with distance education and babysitting 3 kids. The youngest is about 8 months old and is also named Johanna! She was sick last Monday with a flu and unfortunately I caught it and am in bed here as I write this blog.
Ben was also offered a job at Eagle Vision Video Prod. in Fort St. John, and when we get back to Canada in December, we've decided to do a 6 month trial period there! We are really looking forward to some family time and to see what God has in store for us. We will be living in Braden and Erin's basement suite, which will be a lot of fun for us and we're bound to create some great memories! Their baby is due at the end of February and it will be so much fun to be so close.
So, there is a lengthy and much-needed update. I hope everyone is doing well!!!
Hugs from the Haablies
